Psychosocial Support Services

Professional counselling with our qualified social worker. One-on-one sessions where you can express your feelings, thoughts, fears and challenges in a safe environment.

We connect you with other service providers, government departments, and community organizations for specialized support and further assistance tailored to your needs.

Prevention Programmes

Community education and awareness programs designed to prevent gender-based violence through education, advocacy, and community engagement initiatives.

Sheltering Services

Safe accommodation with 3 meals per day plus snacks. Includes psychosocial support, skills development, and medical assistance in a protective environment.

Life Skills

Life skills training provided through educational groups and one-on-one sessions, tailored to your specific needs and circumstances to promote independence.

Vocational Skills

Skills development and vocational training programs to enhance employment opportunities and economic empowerment for survivors.

Support in Court Cases

Court accompaniment and legal support to help navigate the justice system. We provide emotional support and guidance throughout legal proceedings.

More than 10 years of experience in psychosocial support

EMTHUNZINI Victim Empowerment Centre is a registered non-profit organisation (163-079NPO) established on January 15th, 2015 by a group of Dirkiersdorp youth with the purpose of decreasing domestic violence in our communities. Others who form part of our organization include; Security Personnel: Vusi Mahlaba and Landiwe Gama. Care Workers: Busisiwe Nzima, Njabulo Dladla and Mayina Vilakazi. Board Members: Mr BP Shoba (Chairman), Mr S Vilakazi (Deputy Chairman), Ms L Zwane (Secretary), Mr S Shandu (Treasurer), Ms S Ntshakala (Deputy Secretary), Ms D Mntambo (Additional Member).

To provide early intervention, restore dignity and advocate for the rights of victims. We ensure that dignity and rights are protected, empowered, and not subject to secondary victimization.

To raise awareness and combat crimes including Gender-Based Violence, women and child abuse, trafficking in persons and substance abuse through comprehensive support services.
